2a. St Remigius, nimbed, in blue glass, mitred and wearing a pot-yellow chasuble over a ruby dalmatic and white alb with pot-green apparel, stands on the left facing to sinister, his right hand raised in front of his breast, He looks down at a kneeling female donor figure on the right, facing to dexter, dressed in a nun’s pot-blue habit with veil and wimple. Over their heads is a relieved inscription in lombardic script '+S(ANCTUS) REMIGI(US) '. Trace-line with half-tone washes. The figures stand on grassy ground, against a background of naturalistic running vine-leaf grisaille, with a border of crowned Rs, all modern. The pastoral staff formerly held in the saint’s left hand by his side (described by Martin) is gone, and the right side of the nimbus has been patched with old glass. Bishop’s feet are part of modern ground. 15 Pot-metal and ruby glass suffer from moderate exterior corrosion, white glass less affected. 1288 – c.1300.
