List of Technical Forums

The international technical committee of the CVMA has met regularly in the context of the international colloquia. For a general history, see E. Bacher, ‘Conservation of stained glass. The Comité technique’s research’ (CV Newsletter, 45 (July 1994), pp. 15–16). The technical committee established its connection with ICOMOS in 1983. Its meeting at the following Colloquium, in Barcelona in 1985, was reported in detail by E. Bacher (‘XIIIth Colloquium of the CVMA. Working Session of the Comité Technique’, CV Newsletter, 39/40 (December 1986), pp. 4–6), and the technical committee also met during the Amsterdam Colloquium, in 1987. As there had only been an opportunity to hold a small meeting during the Erfurt Colloquium in September 1989, the technical committee held a separate colloquium, ‘Verrières extérieures et problèmes de conservation des vitraux’, in conjunction with the ICOMOS stained glass committee, in Chartres, 9–11 October 1989. The proceedings of this were published in CV Newsletter, 45 (July 1994). A number of international forums were held subsequently.
